Digital Downloads & Distribution Demystified

Want to create custom cards for your band's next show so that fans can get your album digitally? After all, digital album sales are on the rise while physical ones decline, so it might be worth thinking about! Red Vinyl Media is putting on a show on March 12th featuring student artists, and tracks from the students will be available for download - we are using a company called Dropcards (http://www.dropcards.com/home/) and they are fantastic. Many options for card design, including help from designers on the team, and excellent customer service - they are worth your time if you want to create digital download cards for your fans. Or perhaps you'd like to put your music on things such as iTunes, and get paid for the tracks - before and after Red Vinyl's show, if you don't attend and get a free download card for the album, the album will be available for sale on iTunes, via a company called Catapult. (http://www.catapultdistribution.com/) This company will post your album on sites like iTunes for $25 per album, and charges no subscription fees - they take 9% of the royalties for your album and track sales, so you never have to worry about remembering to pay them - they're paying you! Check out these companies and the artists at the show on March 12th! Go to www.facebook.com/redvinylmedia for all the details!
